1 More Day

So here are the facts:

1. God has called me to the Quip this summer.
2. I will miss my family.
3. I will miss my friends.
4. God has called me to the Quip this summer.

I cannot wait to start this journey that God has for me this summer. Though it will be hard to leave my crew at the Twenty One Cotton Crib, I have to do what I have to do. I heard this quote once..."Ships are safe when anchored at the dock; but that's not what ships were made for." Talk about speaking the truff there! I know I am in for a lot of brokenness and restoration this summer; and I hope to be able to blog about it. However, remember folks I don't know how often I will have internet access, so don't send me any threats about updating this blog I was peer pressured to start! About this little blog anyway ... my vision for it is basically to be real, to be raw. I don't want a blog that just talks about roses and daisies. Some of what I write might bring laughter, some of what I write might bring smiles, some of what I write might bring tears, some of what I write might bring frustration, some of what I write just might piss you off - just please know as believers I think we try too much to cover up the rawness in our life to make everything look good. That's not what Jesus calls us to do. He calls us to be transparent, to hold one another accountable, to love, to empower.

Some of you have asked about prayer requests - I am going to list the top 5 going into the summer, but I am sure it will change soon.

1. Adhering and submitting completely to the Spirit.
2. That God would draw me closer to Him no matter what it takes. (SCARY)
3. Ordained opportunities to speak the Truth. (softened hearts in the city of Aliquippa)
4. Unity, servanthood, community; what this looks like and that we as a staff would live it.
5. Being Throne focused.

Thank you so much in advance. I will truly need prayer daily. I don't plan on blogging again before I leave, so who knows when this thing will be updated. Until next time, deuces!

And The Journey Begins

So I'm starting this blog for the simple reason that I'm not one to pick out everyone's email and and send them an in depth update on what God is doing in my life. So this way, you can check it out if you want. I will first say that I have no idea how much internet access I will have over the summer. Ha, this could be my very first and very last time blogging. I actually love that thought. For those of you who do not know, I will be spending the summer in The Quip; Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. Yup, this is where it will all go down in the next two months.
PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE OF ALIQUIPPA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot wait to live with and serve the people of this city. I'm trying to think of an in depth first post I can write, but its 11:22 pm and way past my bed time. I'll hit this up one more time before I leave on Sunday.
